First Free Will Baptist Church
The thought of visiting a brand new church can definitely be intimidating. Let us help relieve
some of the uncertainty. At First Free Will Baptist, you can expect to be greeted by our friendly
people as soon as you enter the door. Someone will be there to give you a bulletin and help with
whatever else you need. We value our visitors and welcome you as an honored guest. Here are
some things you will notice about our worship service.
Preaching and Teaching
The central focus of our service is the preaching of God’s Word. We believe in using our Bibles
here and read them in every service. There are extra Bibles in the pew if you need one. Pastor
Tommy fervently shares what God has laid on his heart each week. During the message some
people may shout "Amen" in agreement. We close the preaching service with a time of invitation
for people to respond to the message or come accept Christ as Savior. The music plays as people
make their way forward to the altars to pray for themselves or others. Sometimes we may close
the service with the whole congregation joining hands for prayer.
Our music program is designed to lead the congregation into worshiping God. Every service we
open up the hymnbook and sing many Christian favorites. For instruments, we have a piano,
organ, guitar, and stand-up bass. Many of our people also minister through the Church Choir and
special music. The music program helps prepare the congregation to receive the preaching
Every Sunday morning, our service begins with Penny March, a fun time where kids collect loose
change for missions. We also have a time to receive the regular offering. Our church members
follow the Biblical practice of tithing to the local church. Giving back to God from what He has
provided is a form of worship. The offerings go to meet the church expenses, provide local
ministries, and support missions around the world. We compel no one to give, but every dollar
comes by people contributing of their own free will. As a visitor, you should not feel any
obligation to give.
We do not pretend to be anything fancy at our church, but simply strive to give God our best by
dressing up a little when coming to His house. Most of the men wear collared shirts and pants.
Pastor Tommy and some of the men have on suits. Most of the ladies wear dresses or skirts. Our
emphasis is not what people wear on the outside, but on their spiritual need on the inside. We
certainly do not want people to make the excuse they cannot come to church because they have
nothing formal to wear. Each week we have people in many styles of clothing, so we promise you
will not stand out.
